Wolsey Probate’s longstanding expertise is to help settle the affairs of people who have passed away without a will (died intestate) in England and Wales. We usually work on behalf of a relative of the deceased person, even if our client did not know the deceased person well.
Estate administration includes sorting out everything from your loved one's property, bank accounts and other assets to their pensions, debts, income tax and inheritance tax.
If you use us, you do not have to bounce between solicitors, accountants, government departments and financial institutions by yourself to get everything done; we can manage it all for you.
Wolsey Probate was set up by Anglia Research Services, because some existing clients were asking for specialist help with the administration of intestate estates. So, unlike more general probate lawyers or accountants, this is work we excel at, day in and day out. Therefore, our procedures are streamlined and our charges are very reasonable.
When there is no valid will the estate administration process is different from usual. The law specifies who can take charge of sorting out the estate and the application to obtain the legal authority to do so is also different.
Perhaps more importantly, the law lays down the rules of intestacy, which specify how the estate must be shared out. We are experts in applying these rules, in dealing with complex family relationships, and in ensuring that everybody receives the inheritance to which they are legally entitled.
Our dedicated team is approachable and friendly: we will always help clients to understand what is involved and to keep track of how a case is progressing. Together we have 65 years of experience as specialist solicitors, legal executives and probate administrators.
We can also assist with administration of estates where there is a valid will, and with other services such as preparation of lasting powers of attorney.
There are no upfront costs to pay and your initial consultation is free.
